Out of these around 20,000+ have moved to International Locations. 11,000+ women have discontinued practice due to social responsibilities. 4,000+ have moved to bureaucracy. 3,000+ are in non-medical jobs in corporate world. In reality less than 100,000 Medical Practitioners are available for a population of 200 million in Pakistan. Doctor:Population Ratio is less than 1 : 2,000 as against international standard of 1:550. Pakistan is short by 300,000 Doctors and they can be produced in foreseeable decades. Further, sending these doctors to Rural Area is not possible and feasible.
